Comment form should be fixed

I had to uninstall then reinstall an updated version of the comment plug-in I use, but it seems to no longer conflict with adblockers.  Also, unrelated, I think you don’t have to use the IMG tags to insert a linked image into the comment field anymore. If you simply cut-paste a direct image hyperlink/url, it automatically displays as the image when you hit Post. At least with .jpg extensions, didn’t test anything else.

And since it’s not a pic-blog without a pic …

Prompto, Noctis, 4k

…mostly Prompto. The “older Noctis” is Avatara, with the thicker beard.

I have a bunch of cut-outs that I keep working on a bit here and there, but the hair, the hair is so difficult, one could spend hours each one going pixel by pixel to clean up/cut out the color bleed to even somewhat tolerable levels. I wonder if there’s an easier way, outside of erasing 1/3 of the character’s hair, or trying to clone over it (a little cloning works ok, too much starts to look funky). Probably not. It’s either hours spent or use the cut-outs only on backgrounds where it wouldn’t be noticeable.

I’ll keep trying/fiddling with them (because I like pain) but dunno how many I may post or if I’ll post. I doubt there’s a huge “market” or interest in such. It’d just be nice sometimes to be able to put a fave pose of a character onto whatever wallpaper background or scenic shot I might take, vs. always trying to capture a moment in-game (where something in the scene is in the way 3/4 of the time…). Basically, I want to do what Prompto does with some of his photos. 😛

Cor! (older)

Been playing around with the guest Table again. I wish you could have the first, “younger” Cor as well. The game doesn’t let you have a guest during the Timed/Daily Hunts so I often don’t have the guests active because of that.

Unrelated note: Since the last update I feel like some game textures (I don’t mean mods) in the game have degraded slightly resulting in more noticeable Ansel close-up fuzziness on some things. Dunno if intentional or not or nvida driver related or something but it’s been annoying. >.>

Slightly younger, older Noct

…can you tell? Probably not.

I keep trying to use Avatara to make the older version of Noct. look a bit closer to his younger self. Remove the beard and the grey is the first step. Can’t do anything about the older skin texture. But they change his face so drastically in some other areas and the character editor is too limited to have a large impact on it. Some of the other changes they seem to have done include:

—nose is different shaped, especially the nostrils and tip shape (larger)
—eyes are more tapered on outer and inner corners and eyelashes are less thick which gives the older eyes a more faded and less of an “eyeliner” look.
—the eyebrows of older Noct. are bushier and don’t taper to thin lines at the outer edges. Guess there were no tweezers inside the Crystal.
—the jawline and maybe cheek area is a bit different and chin isn’t as tapered/is slightly more square
—I think older Noct’s lips are a bit wider (longer) although it’s not too obvious.

This all results in an “older” face that looks more angular and a bit longer/larger I think. So I tweak the editor slider numbers constantly. With all that effort, certain expressions and conditions can look a bit more like the younger version, but mostly it’s the no beard, tweaking nose shape and changing the eyelashes and eyebrows that make it feel different at all. I often feel like the editor sliders hardly do anything, really. Too bad Avatara/Comrades didn’t have the younger hair, it’d be easier to compare.

I don’t really care 98% of the time. But it still occasionally irks my sense of “world consistency” when they expect you to believe that a 20ish year old man would have an entirely different facial structure 10 years later. It’s not like “older Noctis” lost 50+ pounds and/or is 70 years old with an enlarged nose from alcoholism. Then again, maybe the only available drink in the Crystal was celebratory wine. Who knows. 😛
